Mount Sinai Sunrise Hike & St. Catherine’s Monastery from Sharm El Sheikh

Embark on a soul-stirring journey from your hotel in Sharm El Sheikh to the ancient, sacred peaks of the Sinai Peninsula. This iconic expedition combines the physical thrill of a midnight mountain climb with the deep historical significance of one of the world's oldest monasteries. Witness a sunrise that transforms the desert landscape before your eyes, and walk the grounds where history and faith have converged for millennia.

Tour Highlights and What to Expect

1. The Midnight Ascent Departing from Sharm El Sheikh in the evening, you will travel to the base of Mount Sinai. Under a vast, star-studded desert sky, you will begin your hike accompanied by a local Bedouin guide. The climb is a rhythmic, meditative experience as you navigate the winding mountain trail toward the clouds.

2. Sunrise at the Summit Reach the historic summit (2,285m) just as dawn breaks. Watching the sun rise over the jagged peaks of the Sinai is a truly breathtaking experience—a moment of profound silence and natural beauty that captures the true essence of the desert.

3. Saint Catherine Monastery After your descent, you will visit the UNESCO-protected Monastery of Saint Catherine. Founded in the 6th century, this active monastery is home to an invaluable collection of ancient manuscripts and the legendary "Burning Bush." It is a rare opportunity to step back in time and explore one of the world’s most significant religious sites.
