FAQ
The Blue Hole is an absolute bucket list destination in Egypt. We ensure a completely stress free experience by handling all your desert transportation, checkpoint permissions, and local arrangements, leaving you free to enjoy the incredible marine life and unique atmosphere of Dahab.
Yes, beginners can safely enjoy the Blue Hole! The coral reef flats offer shallow areas with incredible views. However, the main sinkhole is very deep with open water. For your safety, we highly recommend renting a life jacket on-site, and our team/guides will be there to assist you. Non-swimmers should always wear a life jacket and stay close to the shore or guide.
Snorkeling gear (masks, fins, and life jackets) is not included in the base tour price. This is to allow travelers who already own gear to use their own. If you don't have equipment, don't worry—we will stop at a rental shop in Dahab before reaching the Blue Hole where you can rent high-quality gear for a very small fee.
The drive from Sharm El Sheikh to Dahab takes approximately 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes (around 100 km). The drive is very comfortable as it goes through a fully paved highway cutting through the beautiful Sinai desert mountains.
The free "Sinai Only" stamp (which you receive upon arrival at Sharm El Sheikh Airport) is completely sufficient for this trip! Since Dahab and the Blue Hole are located within the Sinai Peninsula, you do not need to purchase the full 25$ Egyptian tourist visa.
Yes. The Blue Hole shoreline is lined with traditional Bedouin-style camps and cafes. These facilities offer shaded seating areas, restrooms, and places where you can change into your swimwear or relax by the water.
Absolutely! The area around Dahab is famous for multi-activity adventures. If you want to add a Bedouin camel ride along the shoreline or a quad biking session through the desert canyons, please contact us in advance so we can customize your itinerary.
